Mission & Vision
The purpose of聽Societas Biochemica, Biophysica et Microbiologica Fenniae (Biobio Society) (The Finnish Biochemical, Biophysics and Microbiology Society)聽is to support and promote experimental biological research in Finland and to act as a link between persons working in fields of biological research.
In addition, the society aims to inform the general public about the research and to help make the results useful to society.聽Biobio Society has eight divisions: Biochemistry, Biophysics, Microbiology, Virology, Food Science, Plant Molecular Biology, Peptide and Proteomics Divisions, and two local divisions in Turku and Oulu.
Key Activities
- Biennial Bioscience day, which is a one-day lecture symposium
- Activities of the society’s divisions, which organise meetings or events with lectures, exhibitions, communiqu茅s and discussions
History
Biobio Society was established in 1946 and became a member of 果冻传媒 in 1964.
Membership
Biobio Society has approximately 500 members (2022), and only accepts scientsts living in Finland as members. The Society has a for all students and PostDocs.
