Support for members of ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Societies
FINANCIAL SUPPORT for early-career RESEARCHERS
Since its earliest days, ¹û¶³´«Ã½ has had a strong emphasis on promoting the training of young scientists during their PhD studies and also during the post-doctoral stages of research careers. Financial support has also recently been extended to the early-career group leader stage.
PhD students and early-career postdoctoral scientists who are members of a ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Constituent Society of ¹û¶³´«Ã½ are eligible to apply for:
- a range of research Fellowships such as Short-Term and Summer Fellowships
- Youth Travel Fund grants to support costs for participation in ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Advanced Courses
- YSF grants to support costs for participation in the ¹û¶³´«Ã½Â Young Scientists’ Forum and the ensuing annual Congress
- bursaries to support participation in the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Congress
In addition, early-career group leaders may be eligible to apply for the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Excellence Awards to support research costs.

Financial support for researchers in disadvantaged ¹û¶³´«Ã½ countries
In addition to the opportunities above for early-career researchers, scientists from countries with Hinari (Research4Life) status in the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ area, who are members of their ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Constituent Society, may be eligible for:
- Ukrainian Short-Term Fellowships to support research visits abroad
- the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Congress Mathias Sprinzl scheme for reduced registration fees and Sprinzl travel grants at a ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Congress (see the current ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Congress website for details)
