The ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Integration and Networking Committee aims to support wide and effective participation in molecular life science research and teaching by scientists from across the countries of the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ area, particularly via the role of learned Societies that belong to ¹û¶³´«Ã½. To this end, it encourages collaboration between ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Constituent Societies and with ¹û¶³´«Ã½, it advises developing or rejuvenating ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Constituent Societies on ¹û¶³´«Ã½ opportunities, and it assists researcher communities that want to establish a molecular life science Society in their country.

Activities of the committee include visits to understand the situation and challenges faced by particular communities in different ¹û¶³´«Ã½ countries so as to help formulate advice on Society development or to discuss intensification of the Society’s activities and cooperation with ¹û¶³´«Ã½.

The committee also works with other committees and working groups of ¹û¶³´«Ã½ across several activities, particularly those addressing challenges faced by scientists from disadvantaged countries and by young scientists. For example, it encourages ¹û¶³´«Ã½ programmes such as Ukrainian Fellowships for research visits to other countries in the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ area, assists with Education workshops in certain ¹û¶³´«Ã½ countries, and oversees the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Congress Mathias Sprinzl scheme to support Congress participation of researchers from Hinari (Research4Life) status ¹û¶³´«Ã½ countries.

A new initiative launched in 2022 is aiming to establish a community of ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Member Society Representatives (individuals nominated by ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Constituent Societies to engage with other Societies and ¹û¶³´«Ã½) across all ¹û¶³´«Ã½ countries – with an online space provided by a ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Network room (e.g.to enable sharing of learning Society matters between ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Societies), and an in-person gathering at the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Congress.
