¹û¶³´«Ã½ is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2026 ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Excellence Awards.

The ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Excellence Awards support outstanding early-career group leaders in the molecular life sciences by providing funding to advance ambitious research projects. Each award provides €100,000 over three years to support the purchase of research equipment and consumables.

The 2026 application round is open from 15 June to 15 August 2026.

Who can apply?

Applicants must be early-career group leaders working in a country with a ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Constituent Society and must meet a number of eligibility criteria, including:

✅ Having obtained their PhD within the past eight years (with consideration given to career breaks)
✅ Holding a salaried group leader position for at least one year prior to application
✅ Being a member of a ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Constituent Society
✅ Having gained at least two years of research experience in a different country before their current employment

The ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Excellence Awards are designed to support innovative research projects in the molecular life sciences and to help outstanding researchers establish and strengthen their independent research programmes.

Applications are assessed by the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Excellence Awards and Fellowships Committee, with successful candidates notified by 1 December 2026.
