The 2026 call for the PROBio-LatAm Fellowships Programme is now open. Applications will be accepted from 2 March to 19 April 2026 (23:59 CET).
PROBio-LatAm is a joint initiative of ¹û¶³´«Ã½, IUBMB and PABMB that supports PhD students, postdoctoral fellows and early-career researchers from Latin America to undertake research stays of 3 to 6 months in a laboratory based in a ¹û¶³´«Ã½ country.
The programme enables awardees to access specialised technologies and expertise that may not be readily available in their home institutions, fostering scientific exchange and strengthening molecular life sciences capacity across regions.
Who can apply?
Applications are welcomed from:

PhD students officially enrolled in Latin American countries and affiliated with PABMB via their national societies

Postdoctoral fellows and researchers within five years of obtaining their PhD degree, affiliated with PABMB
Host laboratories must be based in a not-for-profit institution or university within a ¹û¶³´«Ã½ country and be affiliated with a ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Constituent Society.
Funding
Awards are granted for research visits of 3 to 6 months, with a maximum amount of EUR 7,000 for a six-month stay, covering:

Travel costs up to EUR 2,000

Living expenses of at least EUR 5,000
Funding for shorter stays is adjusted accordingly. Awards are intended to offset travel and living expenses during the research visit.
